We recruit, train and place South Africa’s most talented recent university graduates and young professionals as full-time teachers over two years in South Africa’s most under-resourced schools. Participants of the program are called Associates.
Once in the classroom, Associates embark on a two-year paid fellowship that blends teaching, leadership development, and personal growth. The experience is structured around four key pillars: Ongoing pedagogical support, Leadership Development, Community Innovation Projects, and Peer Learning & Reflection.

Lead For South Africa (LFSA) is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of ethical and effective leaders who can drive meaningful social change in South Africa. Our primary focus revolves around tackling educational inequity and addressing leadership gaps within the country. We accomplish this mission by identifying, training, and placing talented recent university graduates and young professionals in underserved schools nationwide.
At the core of our organization is the Leadership Development Fellowship, a comprehensive program designed to select and train exceptional individuals from diverse academic backgrounds. Through this fellowship, we equip participants, referred to as “Associates”, with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to become transformative leaders within the education sector.
Our Associates make a commitment to serve as full-time teachers in under-resourced schools across South Africa for a duration of two years. They collaborate closely with school administrators, teachers, students, and community members to enhance educational outcomes, introduce innovative teaching methodologies, and foster a positive and conducive learning environment.
Throughout their placement, our Associates benefit from continuous support, mentorship, and professional development opportunities offered by Lead For South Africa. Additionally, they join a thriving network of like-minded individuals who share a passion for education and social impact.
